Terms of use

ScopeLine is a construction tendering platform. Owners, architects and their representatives publish a scope of work broken down by division and line; contractors price those same lines; the resulting bids are compared side by side.

Anyone may register. Before a company can see projects, a person here checks that it is real and is the one it says it is. We may decline a registration, and we will say why.

An account belongs to a person, not to a company, and must not be shared. People at a company are added by that company — not by us — and whoever adds them is responsible for that decision, because anyone added can see the company's projects and bids.

Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think somebody else has it.

Scope, drawings, prices, questions and answers you put into ScopeLine remain yours. You give us permission to store and process them in order to run the service — including the AI processing described in our privacy policy, clause 4.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Drawings are frequently somebody else's copyright.

A bid is commercially sensitive and the product is built accordingly. A bidder sees their own bid and never another bidder's. The party who published the scope sees the bids submitted to them.

If you are shown a bid or a price, treat it as confidential to the tender it belongs to. Do not disclose another party's pricing outside the people at your company who need it to do the work.

ScopeLine carries information between the parties to a tender. It is not the tender, and we are not a party to any contract you form. We do not award work, do not guarantee that a bid will be accepted, and take no part in disputes about scope, price, payment or performance between an owner and a contractor.

Whether a scope is complete, whether a price is right, and whether to award are decisions for the parties. What appears on screen — including anything proposed by the AI features — is information to be checked, not professional advice.

Do not use ScopeLine to break the law, to misrepresent who you are or which company you belong to, to access another company's data, to probe or circumvent the access controls, or to scrape the platform.

We may suspend access where we reasonably believe one of those is happening, or where it is necessary to protect other users' data.

We aim to keep ScopeLine running and will not pretend to guarantee it. It depends on providers we do not control, and it will occasionally be unavailable for maintenance.

Do not let a tender deadline depend on this service being up at the last minute. If a closing time matters, agree with the other party how a submission is handled if the platform is unavailable.

ScopeLine is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost contracts or lost business arising from your use of it — including from a missed deadline, an error in scope, or a decision made on information shown here.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You can stop using ScopeLine whenever you like; contact us to close an account. We may end access where these terms are broken. Closing an account does not erase the record of a tender that other parties relied on — see clause 5 of the privacy policy.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.

If we change these terms in a way that affects you materially, we will tell you. Continuing to use ScopeLine after that means you accept the change.
